Housekeeping Duties: Light housekeeping is defined as maintaining an orderly home to ensure
cleanliness and order. It is the responsibility of our staff to maintain the dwelling to the standards
of the client. It is the responsibility of the client to discuss the details with the staff to define their
preferences. Most often, light housekeeping is confined to the area where the staff services are
taking place. The standard duties are to maintain order and cleanliness. That includes vacuuming
carpeted floors, dusting shelves and furniture, sweeping and mopping flooring surfaces, and
generally keeping the dwelling clean and neat. The kitchen is always clean, neat and sanitary,
and ready as a place to prepare food. Light housekeeping in the kitchen includes cleaning dirty
dishes by washing them or loading them into a dishwasher. Laundry is also included in light
housekeeping duties. Laundry will be sorted, washed, and dried. Clean laundry will be folded
and placed in the appropriate location identified by the client.
• Housekeeping: Vacuuming, dusting, sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning bathrooms
to include sinks, showers, tubs, and toilet, cleaning kitchens, sinks, appliances, counters,
taking out the trash, straightening all rooms, organizing closets and drawers, cleaning
any interior windows that can be reached without a ladder.
• Laundry & Linen Washing: This can be done in either the O.S.J Family place or the
Laundromat includes washing, drying, ironing, and putting things away.
• Organize Incoming Mail We can assist the client in separating the junk mail from the
important mail and let them know when bills are due.
